The Volkswagen Passat received a big mid-cycle refresh in 2016, with some notable cosmetic improvements and the addition of new safety features and an upgraded infotainment system on the higher trim levels. TheFastLaneCar.com recently reviewed the 2017 Passat and reports those improvements have now been extended to the lower trim levels as well.

Volkswagen isn't new to station wagons by any means, but its new Golf Alltrack is the first designed specifically to go after the station-wagon-based, outdoorsy crossover segment that has been owned largely by Subaru - specifically its Outback - model for years, and to a lesser extent, Volvo and Audi.
